MISSION ANALYSIS
The Demon King has taken it upon himself to destroy much of the world. Only one continent remains. It is up to two knights and a witch to journey to ElfLand to find the elder, who is the only one that can help them find and destroy the Demon King.
Okay, so the overall story is pretty generic, but there's a good amount of humor to keep you interested.
The battle system is also fairly unique. Called the Dyna-Real Battle System, you select a handful of commands for each of your party members, and they will act on their own.
You choose an offensive-based strategy, a defense-based strategy, and a magic-based strategy, then you switch between them as necessary, while your characters save you from mashing the buttons ad-naseum.

Release! Happy Devil's Day everyone!

Looked at the graphics again. Trying to figure out why the title recompression isn't working. Also, I don't really know what I'm doing as far as those little place name windows are concerned. I can get the window itself expanded. Just the shading behind the window. I don't know what I'm looking for.

To commemorate 10 years since the original game's release, I release a new beta. This one translates enough to make the game beatable by an English speaker. All the major event dialouge (minus a few bits and pieces) are inserted and tested. Villager dialouge is not yet inserted in this patch. The menus are all done. Really all that's left is inserting and formatting the villager dialouge, fixing/expanding the 16x16 text (load/save/name menus and the place names) (ASM: somehow getting the game to like 24-bit LDAs when it was programmed with 16-bit LDAs), and a couple minor display quirks with the menu system. I just (partially?) broke the graphics compression on the title and ending screens (not much other compressed graphics found, but this is all I need translation-wise).
And if anybody around here is willing and able to translate the instruction manual, let's talk. Plenty of kanji there.

I finished inserting the first block of text. Now, I'm going to work on block 3 of the text. Still waiting on somebody to translate block 2. It is about 36KB in Shift-JIS format, though I warn that the text is all kana. Give me a hollar if you'd like it.
Also if anybody has interest in translating this game's instruction manual, I'd be willing to work something out.

This mission was undertaken by:
KingMike - hacking
Gideon Zhi, ev0, g8z et al - hacking support
